Brothers Mamei set it up in during the year 1977 with the aim to bring much more effective and safe the braking devices of the construction and agricultural machineries. Thanks to their vision and technical intuitions, the company located in the beating heart of the Italian mechanic sector – Modena, quickly became one of the most important players among brake valves manufacturers.
GROWING BIG
The staff knowledge, the latest technical equipment and the focus on specifics customers’ requirements made Safim S.p.A grew constantly throughout the years.
Today we can count a 15000 sq. m. production plant in Modena, a subsidiary office in France, Germany and one more in U.S.A., as well as a facility in Pune – India, rapidly turning into second manufacturing plant; all four premises together ensure a worldwide presence.

THE FUTURE
After a partnership with a private equity fund, lasted two years, which helped the funder’s family and the company growing on global scale, at the end of 2019 Safim joined the Al-Ko vehicle technology Group, a global operating technology company, wholly owned subsidiary of DexKo Global Ind.
We achieved different certifications: The UNI EN ISO: 14000 and UNI EN ISO: 9001 concerning processes; both standards underline the commitment of our management towards environmental and quality themes. During 2018 as one of the first companies in Europe, the company reached another important target by reaching the UNI EN ISO: 45001 certification, the most important regarding safety at work.
